Here's a little checklist I made for myself to make sure I'm keeping my skin the best it can be:
- Fill a large sports bottle with cool, filtered water and chug away/refill during the day
- Take multivitamins, B complex, and probiotics every other day
- Clean gently, exfoliating at least once a week with a facial brush or a chemical exfoliator
- Apply moisturizer and blend it in well at night after any treatments
- Remember that AHAs can help melt away old skin and any flakes or imperfections -- but use cautiously if sun exposure is likely
- Enjoy the bounty of fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables at every opportunity
- Watch portions -- feeling full in hot weather is no treat at all and a bad digestion makes the skin suffer
- Never leave home with at least some sort of SPF on your face, neck, and decolletage
- Apply SPF to the body parts exposed to sun if you plan to be outside that day
- Remember that shade, hats, and lightweight long sleeves/legged apparel are your best friends
- Don't neglect your girly service appointments during the summer (exercise, eyebrows, facials, massages) as they all help keep you in good shape with little effort
- Include as many healthful fatty acids in meals as possible (avocado, flax seed, chia seed, hemp seed, sunflower seeds, pepitas, goji, avocados, salmon and other fatty fish, etc.)
