Early Summer Skincare

As the weather blends humidity, indoor a/c, and hot sun it's important to keep skin supple and replenish used resources!

Here's a little checklist I made for myself to make sure I'm keeping my skin the best it can be:
  • Fill a large sports bottle with cool, filtered water and chug away/refill during the day
  • Take multivitamins, B complex, and probiotics every other day
  • Clean gently, exfoliating at least once a week with a facial brush or a chemical exfoliator
  • Apply moisturizer and blend it in well at night after any treatments
  • Remember that AHAs can help melt away old skin and any flakes or imperfections -- but use cautiously if sun exposure is likely
  • Enjoy the bounty of fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables at every opportunity
  • Watch portions -- feeling full in hot weather is no treat at all and a bad digestion makes the skin suffer
  • Never leave home with at least some sort of SPF on your face, neck, and decolletage
  • Apply SPF to the body parts exposed to sun if you plan to be outside that day
  • Remember that shade, hats, and lightweight long sleeves/legged apparel are your best friends
  • Don't neglect your girly service appointments during the summer (exercise, eyebrows, facials, massages) as they all help keep you in good shape with little effort
  • Include as many healthful fatty acids in meals as possible (avocado, flax seed, chia seed, hemp seed, sunflower seeds, pepitas, goji, avocados, salmon and other fatty fish, etc.)
Hope summer is treating you well!
